Switzerland: Après Ski Season

Switzerland is easy to pigeonhole. Ski resorts, winter aesthetics, and that’s usually where it ends. But once the snow melts, something quieter and arguably more interesting takes over. Three places worth considering:

  • The Italian-speaking corner of Switzerland that most people overlook.

Lakeside, sun-drenched, and noticeably more relaxed than anywhere north of the Alps. The food is better here too.

  • A small village in the northeast that feels almost too picturesque to be real.

Traditional without feeling staged, known for its cheese, and surrounded by hiking that doesn’t require much effort. The kind of place you stay longer than planned.

  • Yes, it’s an art city. But Basel holds its own well beyond fair season.

A strong food and wine scene, with an Old Town that rewards wandering. Worth a long weekend on its own, not just a stopover.
